For some, the “audacity” to address the State issue and its reformulation in the contexto of “inter-ethnic” relationships, present in the geographical area of the Angolan State and stressing its “ethnic” nature, can present itself as a dangerous and severely detrimental path against the “national unity goddess” (p. 217). Rest, guardians of the “goddess”. M. Moco does not intend to damage “national unity” or fragment political unity, let alone, to try and return to the point of historic evolution of the pre-colonial peoples interrupted by colonial intrusion. In the author’s opinion, colonisation was not a kind of “social freezer” of the past of African societies, “crystallising” it (hence, preserving it) and making it now possible to rescue and resume its evolution in the exact point it was interrupted!Strange as it may seem, it is important to assume the colonial period as integral part of a common history that cannot be ignored, forcing relationships, creating new political areas, defining new realities and forging new identities (by agglutinating the pre-existing ones). It is not a return to the past, but assuming a future of modernity well based on the realities of the present. In Alberto Santos (Portuguese Historian), Preface

Moreover, globalism, the global economic and financial crisis governed by unknown centres of power, or known but without a legal status, lead Westerners to discuss whether the State as we know it is still an instrument capable of governing, with justice and equity, all cultures who finally speak freely about their values, goals, and future, for the first time in the history of humankind. Nevertheless, these cultures are still too often incapable of putting the power of words above the words of the power. This is one of the goals of the present book, written in the body of thought, “let my people pass.” In Adriano Moreira (President of the Institute of Higher Studies of the Academy of Sciences of Lisbon Emeritus Professor of the Technical)
